Arrest warrant issued for President Yoon on charges of sedition

According to the legal community, Judge Lee Soon-hyung, the chief judge in charge of issuing warrants at the Seoul Western District Court, issued the arrest warrant requested by the High-ranking Officials' Corruption Investigation Office for President Yoon this morning. A search warrant was also issued.


Accordingly, the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials is expected to soon begin executing the arrest warrant at President Yoon's official residence. The arrest warrant is usually valid for one week from the date of issuance.


The Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials requested an arrest warrant at midnight the previous day after President Yoon failed to appear three times as a suspect for charges of sedition ringleader and obstruction of the right to exercise authority.
